D.I.Y CHEAP Christmas Wreath!!

Hey guys sorry I didn't get back sooner. I got all my laundry put away, dinner made, and cleaned up the kitchen. By the time all was said and done it was bedtime for my boys. Plus I rented Snow White and the Huntsmen so I watched that it was awesome!! (If you like the fantasy sort of stuff you would definitely like this!!!) it was nice to sit back and relax while the boys were sleeping and watch a movie have a little time to myself. :) Anyways on with scheduled programming. So this year for Christmas I am doing a lot of D.I.Y's it's just cheaper that way and. I love doing it so it will be fun for me. :) I will probably blog about the gifts I'm doing so keep your eyes open for some cool stuff!! Of course most of the ideas will probably come from Pinterest but I also like to put my own spin on things so I will link where I got the idea from and then you can do it anyway you choose :) So this gift is for my Great Ones (my great grandparents) I thought this would be a nice gift for them to hang on their door. What you will need is:
•Hot Glue gun
•Scissor's
•Wire Cutters (if needed)
•Wire Hanger (anyone think of Madea when you read that cause I do! Hah)
•Ornaments of any color shape or size just make sure they have the loop top not the string.
•Garland of any color
•Ribbon (optional)
•Center Piece (optional)



   So I planned on making my Great Ones a wreath from the beginning and originally I was going to buy the actual wreath frame and figure out how to do it that way. But what other way is best than saving money right? So I thought of the millions of wire hangers we collect from dry cleaning (they were starting to become a nuisance) and then I remembered the wire hanger wreath I did last year (it was made from just ornaments) perfect!!  I was at the dollar tree when I found these cute ornaments 5 for 1$ I mean you cant beat that so I grabbed 4 cylinders and then I saw the cutest peace sign there too and though it would be a really cute center piece for it. I already had some green garland from christmas' before.

                                             

Now the first thing you do is take the wire hanger untwist it and straiten it out. I did not need wire cutters because I wanted my wreath to be big. But if you are wanting a smaller wreath then you will need them to cut it to the length that you want.

 



Now you just work the hanger around until it makes a circle like so :)

After I made my frame I took the ornaments and cut off the string that the ornaments hang from. Then I took off the top and it was hot glue time!! I hot glued all the way around the outside top of the ornament then placed the plastic top back on it and gave it a little twist so that the glue would seep in between every hole.

 

Once I finished all of the ornaments I strung them through the wire hanger and twisted the hanger at the top to form a complete circle.                                              WARNING: try not to jerk the ornaments around too hard or this might happen! OH NO! 

Then I started on the garland. At first I thought it might be easier to put the garland on first then the ornaments so I could just place the ornaments on which I guess you could do if you wanted to hot glue the ornaments to the garland but to me stringing the ornaments through makes them more secure and less likely to fall off. Anyways I started by hot gluing and wrapping the garland around where I had twisted the hanger together. Once I had twisted it around where I felt like I had enough garland I pushed one of the ornaments up against the garland. Then I twisted more garland around a few more times and pushed another ornament against that one and kept on wrapping garland and pushing ornaments up until the whole thing was wrapped :)

So I decided that I wanted to put some pretty bows on it and had this silk wire ribbon its a creme color and I love it!

 

 

 

   So I went ahead and made like three bows of different size and shape something to make it look original.

 Well there it is!!!! After I hot glued the bows onto the wreath I tied the Peace sign in the middle and hid the tie inside the garland, then I took some twine and made a little loop in the back and hot glued it so

 you can hang it on a hook!!        

 

Well there you have it a cheap easy way to make a beautiful Christmas wreath! How do you guys like it? Do y'all have any cool D.I.Y ideas?
